Helvetia Thermal SPA Hammam

The Hammam has very ancient origins: its ancestors are the Roman “thermae”. The spas, then spread throughout the Mediterranean area, were centers of hygiene, well-being and social life at that age. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Arabs resumed the tradition of the heated baths from the Romana creating smaller areas so called “hammam” (Arabic: “to warm”) using a more simple bathing procedure.

The hammam became the privileged place for hygiene practices, for the healing of rheumatism and for treating social relations. The large flavored Hammam of the Helvetia SPA has mosaic-covered seats and a ceiling of lights, made with hanging optical fibers, so as to give the idea of a starry sky.
